Wow, time really just flew by this week. I must be getting old. Anyway, my schedule has been packed this week, so I didn't have much spare time to work on an illustration. But last night, I put aside a little bit of time, and this is what I came up with:
I was just playing around with some ball-point pens, a Sharpie, and random patterns. It's actually based off of a little sketch that I did during a telephone conference at work (that would explain the crookedness. I guess I could have rotated it to fix it, but meh, I'm lazy).
I think rabbits and bears are natural opposites, since they have that whole predator-prey dynamic going on. At first, I had just wanted to redo my original sketch. But then, I thought, hey, I should just switch things around and illustrate a giant rabbit eating a bear. The opposite of reality. Well, except maybe in England, where there are were-rabbits (Wallace and Gromit) and vampire bunnies (Bunnicula from Monty Python).
Honestly though, I think I like my original sketch better. It's simple and sketchy, but it has a charm that isn't really embodied in my final product. Oh well, you win some, you lose some, right?
i love the idea! that bear is freakin' cute.

Great work with everyday tools! I love this composition, and that the little bear is in the big bunny's mouth! There's a morbid cuteness about it!

Both are really cool sketches :D
I think I prefer the original's bear but I like the other sketch's rabbit better.
