Bah, I missed showing my WIP yesterday. It was close to midnight by the time I got home on Friday, and needless to say, the lighting sucked and I was dead tired. But I did have a great dinner with excellent company. But enough of that. Moving on.
Meet Lucy the Lamb.
I made her from a free pattern on the Sullivans International website. (Be sure to check out their other free toy patterns...the guinea pigs are especially darling!). Lucy isn't one to rush through things; she takes life one step at a time, and always stops to smell the flowers...before she eats them!
The pattern's very concise and it's relatively easy to follow, though not as clear as I would have liked. I had to guess and improvise on some parts of it. Heh, or I could have just screwed things up all by myself (sadly, that would be a likely explanation). For the ears, when the pattern says to pass one stitch over the other, it means psso (pass slipped stitch over). Oh yes, and you will have to do a little short row shaping; the pattern doesn't specify, but always wrap the yarn before turning to avoid creating holes while making short rows.
With the exception of stuffing and making up Lucy, I didn't do much crafting today. Instead, I spent the better part of the day cleaning the bathroom. My mother would be proud of how thoroughly I cleaned everything. Everything's gleaming. The tub, the showerhead, the faucets, the towel rack, and yes, the toilet too. (I've got to say, the Mr. Clean magic eraser really is magic). And I also sorted through and organized all my craft and art supplies today. And I cleared my desk. Then I swept and dusted the whole apartment, and mopped the kitchen floor. I was a cleaning machine! Too bad this happens only once every blue moon (ie, when I'm expecting company soon). But shhh! That's a secret. I *cough* sweep and dust every *cough* day.
